word of the day: biraderi

Biraderi are Pakistani clans which are supposed to also have a powerful role in Pakistani communities in Britain. Since Labour usually picks clan elders as its parliamentary candidates in consituencies with many Pakistani voters, and these elders are often unpopular with young people, Respect’s campaigning in the Bradford West by-election was anti-biraderi.
